So, What Is A Fusion Wedding? - Part1

You’re probably wondering what a “fusion wedding” even is—I was too at first. In this case, it meant blending two different traditions into one celebration. Ritika, who is Indian, wanted a traditional Hindu wedding, while Kenny wanted a classic Catholic/American ceremony. Instead of choosing one, they did both. The result was a four-day celebration, with the final day featuring both ceremonies in a single day.

This celebration was equal parts challenging, exhausting, rewarding, and incredibly fulfilling. I’ve always been fascinated by weddings from different cultures and backgrounds, so being part of this four-day celebration was an amazing experience.

This post will focus solely on the American/Catholic portion of the day, as there’s simply too much from the four days of celebrations to fit into a single blog. Stay tuned for Part 2, where I’ll cover the Hindu/Indian side of the festivities.
