Armenian Wedding in Nashville, TN
With over 12 years of wedding photography experience, several of those here in Nashville, I’ve had the opportunity to capture weddings across a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. This particular wedding was an Armenian celebration, rich with traditional elements and meaning.
What made it even more unique was the journey leading up to it. The wedding had to be rescheduled multiple times due to a variety of challenges, including complications stemming from the war in Ukraine. During their engagement, the bride was living in Armenia and faced significant obstacles immigrating to the United States, which added to the delays.
The Orthodox Armenian ceremony itself was absolutely beautiful. I had previously photographed a wedding for a member of the groom’s family at the same church a few years earlier, which ended up being incredibly helpful. About 98% of the ceremony is conducted in Greek, so having prior experience in that setting made a big difference. When you don’t share the same language as the couple, you can’t rely on verbal cues from the priest, so understanding the flow of the ceremony visually becomes essential.
The celebration that followed was just as memorable. Family and friends filled the night with energy, dancing, and nonstop celebration. From start to finish, every detail of this wedding was stunning.
